A group of women at church are working our way through a series called Breaking Free Making Liberty in Christ a Reality in Life. I was reviewing some of the past lessons. There was a section that talked about 2Chronicles 28:1-15 where the Northern Kingdom (I think I got that straight) captured individuals from the Southern Kingdom. They were told to let the people go. However the soldiers did more than just set the individuals free. They clothed them, gave them healing balm and gave the weak a ride back home. This passage caused me to think about how I treat individuals I percieve as "guilty" and how I should treat them. Do I hurt over the wrong in their life or do I think of myself as being better than them because I don't struggle with that paticular weakness.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9928836.post-1153398544151839172006-07-20T07:29:00.000-05:002006-07-20T07:29:00.000-05:00I like your thinking because I too understand the ...I like your thinking because I too understand the imperfection in my life that is covered by God's grace. (What is that line "I wouldn't want to belongto aclub thatwould havemeasamember!) - Thank God that he doesn't make us feel that way about his son't church.

2 observations --

1. I'm not sure I am ready to abandon the concept that the church is "a hospital for sinners not a hotel for saints" but I do get your point --It is God who heals us (by his grace and throughhis Spirit) and our job is tobe "messengers of mercy" to bring others to that place of healing.

2. I am on a personal mission to "reframe" my concept of "church" and how I comminicate about it to others.--It has for too long been a place to "go to" (Sunday & Wednesday services, for ministry meetings and "work days") -- I now want to "be (a part of) the church" in everything I do - at home, at work, at play and indeed at times I assemble with other Christians .

God Bless
CharlieCandle (C & L)https://www.blogger.com/profile/13983100658434245078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9928836.post-1153317953901546022006-07-19T09:05:00.000-05:002006-07-19T09:05:00.000-05:00Rejoyce!
